There is something so romantic about a New York Autumn wedding. The crisp air, changing leaves, and gardens still full of warm colors. I mean, as a Hudson Valley wedding photographer: sign me up every time!
Gabriella and Eric’s October wedding had all of that, but what made their day truly special was the love surrounding them. Their story feels like it belongs in a romance novel!
Here is what they told me when they inquired:
They grew up in the same town, just a year apart, but never really crossed paths. Years later, after Gabriella became a single mom, Eric began gently pursuing a relationship. Gently, but surely, he pursued her. She wasn’t ready right away, but eventually she gave him a chance. What she discovered was someone kind, patient, and deeply caring. He welcomed her son as his own, and over the years, their little family grew into something beautiful.
I mean? Where is Hallmark when you need them!?
A Wedding Day Filled With Autumn Beauty
Their October celebration was surrounded by lush gardens, towering evergreens, and a beautiful greenhouse-style reception space. The setting gave us so many opportunities for portraits that were every bit as romantic as their story.
Gabriella looked stunning in a delicate off-the-shoulder lace gown with floral appliqué and a long, flowing train. Eric wore a classic black tuxedo with a bow tie, creating a visual anchor point against the greenery. Their wedding party carried colorful autumn-inspired bouquets filled with warm oranges, blushes, reds, and greenery.
The venue was perfect for an October celebration because it offered:

The day was overcast, which actually just made the warm colors in the decor pop even more. I loved the entire scene as a photographer.
But, honestly, it was the people who made this wedding unforgettable.
Both families were emotional throughout the day, and those genuine moments became some of my favorite photographs. From the ceremony to the couple’s portraits to the sweet moments they shared with their son, there was so much connection to document. My favorite!!
And then there was the reception.
Can we talk about this reception!? It was a beautiful party!!
Warm candlelight, beautiful floral arrangements, a gorgeous naked cake topped with seasonal blooms, and a packed dance floor to celebrate their nuptials. Their first dance was especially beautiful as the greenhouse transformed into a warm, romantic space after sunset. And I loved that Gabriella shared a first dance with her son as well (I’m not crying, you’re crying).
Seven Years, Seven Months, and Forever
Gabriella’s lucky number is 7. So, in 2021, after seven years and seven months together… Eric proposed during a stormy trip to the Outer Banks with champagne on the beach. (AGAIN WITH THE HALLMARK MOMENTS!)
When they’re not getting married in a gorgeous New York Autumn wedding… these two have plenty of hobbies together.
From hiking to traveling to Netflix binges at home, their life together is built around the simple things that make a family feel like home. The moments you literally never regret spending your time on. They’ve built a life centered around connection, and their wedding day reflected that.
